Razor Cuts was the follow up to the first major RS release The Sun Never Sets. Possibly the darkest and most uncut RS record to date, Razor Cuts is composed of B-sides from The Sun Never Sets and mostly new tracks that were recorded during the pressing and production of The Sun Never Sets. Only 200 copies of this CD exist in circulation making it a rare and mostly unheard project. Now the entire album is available for your listening enjoyment. Overall the record sounds "spotty" and inconsistent in arrangement as to release some "on the spot" material to hold over the true fans. Most notably it was this CD that Kastro made his debut with Rhyme Skeme Productions under the name Optik Haze. Kastro proved to be a natural addition to the crew appearing on tracks so such as "The Capture" , "Verbal Addiction", "Noose" & "Victory" amongst others.
The Razor CD was created at a time when Rhyme Skeme Productions had just started to gain props in the local area. This is directly reflected in the level of confidence and pride among group members on the album.
There are a few filler tracks, but it does not sound like a B-Side record. Tracks like "Rise & Shine" & "Noose" might still be considered some of the most classic recordings from Twist Blade Studios. Some tracks are just plain wacky such as the infamously comical and hilarious "Jake Champlain", Nate Flare's alter-ego, arguably the worst and longest RS track to date, but funny as hell none the less. In total, the record has become a classic overtime and like most entries in the Rhyme Skeme saga grow on the listener overtime. Far from the best RS project to date, yet still Razor Cuts is an enjoyable listen from top to bottom.
